Howdy Holidays to you, my friends. Those of you who have my two Holiday albums, Songs of the Season and Winter Tales, probably knew I was going to do this. But I didn’t. Y’all left me out of the loop, I guess. So I was kind of the last one to know. But now I’m very excited to be notifying you and planning the evening. It starts early, matinee-early on the West Coast, at 4pm. That is so that our friends on the East Coast and all in between don’t have to stay up after midnight to be there.

Two days before Thanksgiving I created a concert on Zoom and just posted it on my facebook page. I wanted to give it a try and see how it would translate. I’ve been hosting classes on Zoom for Breathing and Meditation these last six months, and singing songs at our online gatherings, I thought maybe I’m ready to do a whole concert. I’m so glad I did it, I truly could not have asked for a more enjoyable, heart opening evening. And we laughed a LOT! So many folks told me it was magical to them and well, what more can you go for than that?
So on Sunday, Dec 20 at 4pm (Seattle Time) I will tell you stories, make you laugh, possibly bring a tear or two to your eyes, and sing beautiful songs all evening. Many of you may not know that I released TWO Holiday albums in the last few years. There is a mix of my original songs of Winter and Christmas, and just as many classics that I found new ways to interpret and sing with love and kindness. Because is there anything we need more than that?

HOW TO WATCH and LISTEN; Quite a few folks connected their computer or phone to their big TV and watched and listened that way. If you’re watching on your computer, that can be good too. I recommend that you either have speakers hooked up or put in your ear buds or wear headphones. I’ve manage to get remarkably good sound on Zoom — which was not created for music. But I heard wonderful reports after my Thanksgiving concert. If you don’t already know how to hook to your TV, go you youtube and type in “how to connect computer/phone to TV.” There are simple, clear examples. In most cases, you just need an HDMI cable you can order from Amazon.

However you listen or watch, I’ll be putting my heart into it and speaking to you as if you’re in the front row. In fact, you’ll be surprised at how intimate it feels. To you, with my face plastered up close on your screen, it will look like I’m three feet from you and singing only to you the whole time. So don’t leave me needing to blow my nose without telling me, okay?

I will play some songs from throughout my many albums, but mostly the songs will come from my two Holiday albums. If you’d like to order the CDs or the Downloads, just click here. And by the way, you probably didn’t know I’ve created a beautiful album of musical spoken word meditations too It’s called Breathe the Sky and you may order it or any of my many albums right here on my website. I personally sign and fill all the orders. So if you’re buying for a friend, let me know and I’ll make it personal.

I hope to see you at my Christmas Concert on December 20. It’s going to be a lot of fun and feel like one great big sigh.
Yer ol’ fren in the sideways rain,

 ~Michael

NOTES about audio; I recommend that you connect your computer to your TV. If you don’t know how, there are youtube videos that show you how. Just go to YouTube and type in “How to connect my computer to TV” You can order an HDMI cable or whatever you need from Amazon quite inexpensively.
If you listen on your computer, I highly recommend ear buds or head phones. Also, if there are several of you watching at your house, you can buy a splitter that allows you to plug several sets of head phones at once.
If you have never experienced Zoom, it’s free to join and extremely simple. Go too Zoom.us and join up. Then go to my website to register for this event. I’ll email you your link and invitation the day before the show.
