Here in this city that floats in the rains
The weather is all that I am
The raindrops are many and I am just a man
Wondering how long I can swim
I know that we’re in this together
I know that we all are one
But how can we hope to remember
If we don’t know by now we’re not alone
The stars suspend like shimmering pearls above me
I breathe it in and stand in the world, loving
I put on my jacket and stand on the porch
And hold out my hands to the rain
I sure do love living no matter how hard
You know that I would do all this again
I go back to some place inside me
Today I am guided by rain
The physical world may divide me
But it’s not what it seems
We’re not alone
